Hello all. I dont know if this the correct place to post this. I am trying to find diagrams on alphabetical letters (A, B, C, D, ......). I have found letters in 2D that form with the use of 2 colors on each side of the paper, but I was hoping to find something more 3 dimentional (like the bird on the logo of this site). Does anyone have any clue????

Thanx

This is what I have found

I don't know of anything on the Internet, but there is a book with diagrams of a 3D alphabet by Paolo Bascetta published by the Italian origami society. It's No. 10 on this list:

Basically the letters are made from square tubes with closed ends, if that's of any help.

I very much liked the 2D alphabets you linked to. There's at least one other 2D alphabet in a Dutch booklet, and the Japanese NOA magazine ran a series a while back of letters by a Japanese creator whose name escapes me at the moment. And recently I came across the entire Russian alphabet:

Click on the image of the book, and it's all there for free. The same website also has other letters, numbers and even letters with hearts on them. Click on "Diagrams" and "Alphabet", and also on "Free books" and "All the ciphers". They are all 2D, though.

EDIT: The Japanese creator was Hasegawa - see the book mentioned in Nikita's post above, which is a compilation of what appeared in the NOA magazine.

THE book on folding 3-D origami alphabetic characters and numerals is "Folding Money: Volume Two" edited by Samuel Randlett, illustrated by Jean Randlett and published by Magic, Inc.

Do a search for "folding money volume two randlett magic inc" and you'll find it. It is an AWESOME book!

Origami Natan on Flickr has some interesting 3D letter tessellations.
Here are the words Love and Origami, and some single letters.

Go to the OUSA convention book 2004, there are a few letters in it.
