cool thanks a bunch! i just got to see a copy of the new book from the exhibit, its fabulous. i went to the paper tree in SF today and Linda had just gotten back with her copy, and vicky showed it to me. funny thing i was in a store called Flax in Sf today and needed the clerks help finding a certain paper for origami bugs, well right after i needed his help, bernie peyton (who had a wonderful exhibit at OUSA this year) happened to be in there and needed the clerks help finding certain paper also for something else. well the clerk thought this is wierd two origami people in a row. so he introduced us and we got to chatting. as many people as i had met at OUSA and i didnt meet bernie or even recognize him as someone i had seen there. but there are pics of his bear and owls/owlets on gilad or boaz site. take a look folks! its not your typical bear standing up. nor are the owl and owlets on the cactus your standard variety. bernie puts a lot of character in his animals. dani

The next but one BOS magazine will have extensive photos & reports (assuming someone writes them!)

just took another look at the "winged bull". sorry, the colour is black,
rather than grey.

That's by Eric Joisel. It's huge (approx. 4 feet long) and heavy (paper and foil sandwich...the thick version of tissue foil). From what I understand, the owner of Hangar-7 bought it for his personal collection.

thanks for the info, joseph. 4 feet long ... wow ... an incredible piece of artwork to have in the house. any idea how much the owner of hangar-7 paid for that beauty? i won't mind having a few pieces of joisel's masterpieces in my house either ... if only i can afford it!

I have a rough idea, but I'm not at liberty to say. Eric's pieces sell as fine art, however, and typical prices are in the thousands of dollars (US).
