Just curious...

1. Using a creases:
When you fold diagonally corner to corner then doing 8 semi kite folds to collapse it into a crane base.

2. Square Base + petal folds

3. Square Base + squash folds

hmmm... I have no idea how "square base + squash folds" works for a birdbase... but usually if I want to make the birdbase as neat as possible I precrease everything and then collapse.

I precrease for the preliminary base, collapse it, then inside reverse fold the sides inwards without precreasing first.

I just precrease 2 times in halfs, then turn over the sheet, and then make 2 creases across. Then collapse, precrease 4 angles bisectors, mark the upper line. Then 2 petal folds. That's it!

I pre-crease and collapse a preliminary base, pre-crease the angle bisectors, then do reverse folds and afterward fold the long flaps upward.

If I'm folding very small subjets or if I want precision I precrease everything.

I always precrease then do the second option, works for me...
