hi redheadorigami - can you please tell me where you got the paper? I live in australia too (Sydney) and noticed that good big sized paper is hard to find (maybe except kraft and really expensive tissue paper)
thanks

Sadly - Canberra is about 300km away and just a tad far to buy paper from (although I did go to Melbourne for the convention last year).

Oh well - thanks for the info!

Matt Gardiner runs the convention once every 2 years in Melbourne. I went to the one last September (it was the AFL grand final weekend and Melbourne was jammed packed). It was my very first convention and it was FANTASTIC - since there were people who actually understood what I was talking about and I even met a few people from Sydney (we have now started out own origami group).

The next one I imagine would be 2011. Although nothing is certain until you get the notice!

If you subscribe to the newsletter on http://www.papercrane.org/ you'll get an email every now and again for meetings, and also about the convention when it comes around.
