Hi all, i recently got my hands on some big paper and i want to fold some representational piece of origami. looking for intermediate to complex level

Define "Big". And what kind of thickness?

bloody hell frumious, 70 to 100 gsm and 50 cm by 50cm (for the smallest piece).

Well "big paper" is different for different people. Like for me, a big sheet is 1mx1m. The normal size i use is 50x50cm, and I use 35cm Tant for smaller models, because i prefer working with those sizes.

Do you want to fold an animal? bug, object, tesselation...?

ok well what books do you have to fold from? or do you mean only from free diagrams or CP from the internet?

With such thick paper you could try wetfolding Kamiya's wizard. For the Ancient Dragon you should use something thinner and possibly larger.

Some of Brill's animals might also look good folded from large paper.

with paper that big, try manuel sirgo's amazing origami lobster, which is on passionorigami.com, just enter the website, look to the left where it says ''i want to fold!'', click on diagrams, scroll down until where it says complex level, and manuel sirgo's name and models should be the second one. also try nicolas terry's very nice origami three wise monkeys, which should be just a couple names down. if you are confused with my directions, say so and i will try to give more detailed instructions. hope that helps!

I'd recommend beginning with Origami to Astonish and Amuse. Just look through the book what you like. The models range from simple to complex so you should be able to find something fitting. For duo coloured paper the star of peace would be a good model. The Insect books are more high intermediate to complex, the models in Advanced Origami require a lot of shaping, patience and skill. ODS has some nice models like the turtle (the simpler one) or the Moose. Just look at the model pictures and the diagrams and try to find out on your own what you would like to fold.
