A4, 180gsm, ISO 216, 210mm X 297mm

I've scoured all my local paper haunts and called around a little but I cannot find this paper for the life of me and I would very much like to have some.

From what I've been able to find out, all I need is standard cardstock that is a little longer than the normal 11 inches. So my closest options I can think of is standard A4 Legal Sized cardstock which I can't seem to find.

I know it's not really origami and more paper craft but you guys are honestly the best to come to with paper related questions.

If anyone knows of a source I could buy a ream(more or less 100 sheets) of this paper than I would greatly appreciate it if you told me. If it helps any I live in or around the Portland Oregon area so a more local shop would be preferred but I'm not picky.

A4 is the standard printer paper format nearly everywhere else than in the USA. The dimensions of A4 paper are 210x297mm what is about 8.3×11.7inch. The gsm is just the paper weight, you want a very heavy paper.
Legal is an American standard paper with the dimensions of 8.5×14inch or 216×356mm.
You should be able to order A4 paper from every European paper shop like for example http://amazon.co.uk, just search for A4 paper 180gsm.

Do you used a search machine? I`ve found with my first search several Online- Shops which sell this sort of paper with exactly 180 gsm

What's 180 gsm in lbs? I keep getting roughly 48 lbs = 180 gsm when I google it but would like to double check with you guys so I purchase a paper that is relatively close to the recommended requirements.

As far as I know there is no one lbs that corresponds to 180gsm. Basically, gsm measures the weight of the paper, lbs the thickness of the paper. Paper can have a quite different thickness, even if the weight is the same.

So maybe the better question would be; is 180 gsm legal size paper relatively the same as 80lb medium cardstock legal paper?

gsm=grams per square meter. This is pretty self-explanatory. Every square meter of paper weighs that many grams.

lbs=pounds per ream. This one is much trickier, as each different kind of paper has a different number of sheets per ream. Also, these papers can have larger or smaller areas, so this system of paper weights is almost entirely useless. It isn't consistent enough to be useful without a bit of digging.

As for your 180 gsm paper, that is rather thick. Standard printer paper is generally about 90 gsm (correct me if I'm wrong), and 180 gsm is more in line with watercolor paper or poster board.

Ok, so medium/normal cardstock should be what I'm looking for. I'll call them up tomorrow to confirm everything before purchasing.

Hi all

To cover an area of one square meter you need about 16 sheets
of A4 paper.
Putting on a balance 16 A4 sheets we can read the weight per square meter of that a4 paper ((gsm))
