Do you guys know anything (particularly animals, specific models, etc.)that could be folded well out of a sheet of newspaper? I've been messing around, but the paper is rather "poofy." Hats and boats don't count

If you pretreat it with Methyl cellulose you can make almost anything. Without MC i have never had any real success. IF you dont want to use MC you can always take some elmers white glue and coat the inside of the models main creases when you have finished

I bought a giant book of newsprint to practice fold with and basicaly all i use it for now is as a big flat space to put pretreated paper while it finished drying.

Are you intending to use the same paper as used for newspapers, or newspapers themselves?

If you want to use newspapers then you should know that the ink bleeds very easily, creating stains. The paper is very flimsy and as far as I can tell it's not really suitable for anything. If you'd be able to obtain an unprinted sheet of newspaper paper, you may be able to treat it with MC.

I have folded a cockatrice, with horns, toes, wings and such from newspaper, unmced. It got abitty flimsy, but after a while everything got alright. I still have it in my possesion now.
