I am commissioned to make birds for a wedding. They cannot be heron, crane, or stork type birds. I am not sure about the quantity I am to make, but I was told that two of them would be used for cake toppers. I am looking for all sorts of ideas. I was also wondering if there was a paper that wouldn't become damaged from oils that the frosting may have. Thank you in advance for any input given.

unless i am mistaken, the frosting may not just have "oils," but i believe the basis for most would be butter.

for the paper try using baking paper or wax paper.

there is actually a whole line of food safe papers specifically for wrapping sandwiches and the like. some of them have very nice designs but i have only ever seen black and brown patterns or white and black patters. Here is a link: http://www.nashvillewraps.com/food-pack ... 49795.html
