Hi all,

What does everyone do with their completed models? I'm sure I can't be the only one who's desk (along with many other surfaces of the house) is covered with paper creations of varying quality. I don't like throwing away any but the worst of them, but there are far too many to display them all.

- How do you display the ones you are most pleased with?
- What do you do with the mediocre ones?
- How much do you just throw away?
- Any more creative ideas? (I made a mobile for my 1 year old cousin that went down pretty well)

Thanks in advance (and sorry if I'm repeating a discussion, but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything).

i don't really display my models there's too many so i just stick them in a couple of large crates but i never chuck them out i give some away but thats it so i have hundreds of test folds everywhere

We have a shelf which became my makeshift origami display case

i use to collect my models everywhere in our flat. when my wife's going mad about all that paper or if it's getting impossible to take a book out of its shelf without causing any serious accident than i usually throw away everything ...
a much better way could be what i've seen at one of the last origami-meetings i've joined - put the better things you don't need any more but you feel too sorry to recycle them at a special desk where everyone who's in need or interest can take a model and keep it for good.

I have model everywhere - on the tables, on the shelfs, in the boxes, on the floor, children play with big tyranosaurus and big goat, every pocket contain several models, terrible, just terrible. I have two ways, in general: 1. I give model to my children for playing or 2. I put the model to the box.

I have shelves integrated in two walls of my room, which is very convenient to display my folds. Unfortunately, the shelves are so flooded right now that my origamis are starting to invade the whole house! I actually have to restrain myself with origami because of space issues at my house now.

...I just can't bring myself to throwing anything away...

I have my models on the shelf but there is no more space on it. So my models just starts filling my whole living-room. I plan to build or buy some glass display cabinet and add the best models there. When I refold some previous model I give the old one to someone who wants it.
Also I live in my new house only for 1 year now and I don't have pictures on walls yet so I'm planning to fold some masks, flowers, butterflies and put them there.
Also I have in my mind something like this

Some go on my dresser until it gets too cluttered, then they all go into a large bag except for my favorites. I really want some kind of display case, but that will have to wait.

i have 2 drawers ne wit test folds from random paper and one with mybest folds from the best and highest quality paper

If someone asks me for a model I will give it, no matter what (unless I consider it's not well folded)
There's also some models I just gift for almost no reason.
And there's some models I have in my bedroom, in my shelf, but I've been thinking in giving them to someone (something like 30 models)

Basically the same as Meschenfeind here:
Whenever someone wants something; give it to them.
And I also keep some in a dispay shelf.
And If someone 'commissions' (asks) for one, I fold and give it to them.

I give away most of my origami overflow- I find other people usually appreciate my origami as much as or more than I do and it always makes me smile when people say, "wow! you really made that!" It also can't hurt when it comes to increasing awareness about origami.

I sometimes give them to people when I don't exactly want them; models I feel worthy of display I keep on a shelf; anything else is kept nice and tidy in a box.

Unless you dip you paper in arsenic, none of this fits your pseudonym on this forum
