Hello. This is my first post under my new, more relevant name. I have a previous post where I was looking for help/information about folding Chris Palmer's Hat Tent, or actually, an evolution thereof that spins, that I saw on the film 'Between the Folds'.
Here's the latest octagonal spinner that goes for 20 seconds:

I first started with Jeremy Shafer's Iso-Area Flasher [PDF] and have evolved a few patterns from there. This first post is a video of what I would call a square flasher-spinner since if opens and closes like a flasher and it then spins. This is the first of a series of works in progress. I also have an octagonal version of this that I will post at a later date. I am now working on a hexagonal version which is more like the one in the above-mentioned film. I hope you will enjoy this.

Next in the series is an octagonal spinner:

Here's a hexagonal spinner:

This one spins for 15 seconds:

Here's a pentagonal spinner just for the fun of it:

Most of us have galleries on Flickr, which is more convenient for that sort of thing. The galleries on this website are often vestigial threads from the time when most of us used Imageshack or Photobucket to store photos-- some of us have kept them up but most of us prefer to leave such things on Flickr.

As for Flickr, I never liked their poor user interface. A few medium-size thumbnails that have to be clicked to view not even the largest size. And the long wait each time going back and forth. Maybe you get more public exposure there than here but still. . . Why not put up some of your best stuff here with a link to Flickr. That way you'd get the best of both worlds.
