Hi everyone, I have been around here for a few months now, and due to the latest gallery craze, I decided to start my own one. There are several things that motivated me to start a gallery:
1. Yesterday I installed inkscape, so I can start to diagram stuff I design
2. I get very few comments on my flickr, so hopefully I'll get more here *nudge nudge*
3. I folded a nice model to start it off!
4. I have designed two of my own models

So here you go, folded from an uncut square of red tissue foil:

By the way, I've just also uploaded some pictures of my new baby rabbits on flickr! They're incredibly cute, check them out.

Great job on the angelfish! The body seems a little bit too big, but it is very cleanly folded! You must have a lot of experience with tissue foil to keep it so smooth.

Rabbits are cute too, especially the close up pictures

Thanks Zoraz! I do fold quite a bit of tissue foil, but this time I actually used a cardboard tube to roll the tissue XD. That's probably why it looks so smooth.

Good news all! At last, I have started my MC journey. I found a bag the makes 11 litres in the £ store! I couln't believe my luck. I made some, and tested it on a sheet of black washi, and it turned out really well, I was actually quite surprised. Unfortunatly, when I make any special paper, I have no idea what to fold with it XD. Any ideas what to fold with a black sheet of washi treated with MC, slightly bigger than A4?

MAJOR UPDATE!

Sorry guys, I've been busy with school and folding so I haven't got round to taking any photos for ages. I'm really trying to push and develop my ability in origami, so I've been trying out some fairly complex models. Also, my tanteidan convention book 15 arrived this morning, so I've been busy folding!

Regular polygons constructed in a way developed by Andrew Hudson, and then decreeped in a way similar to what he taught to me.


2 Owls designed by Nguyen Hung Cuong. I couldn't decide what colour combo to go with, so I just chose a really random one. A really nice model


Lobster by Artur Biernacki. I used a very small square (only 25cm) so the model didn't turn out as good as it could've been. I'm still quite happy with it though, I was able to incorporate all the detail in.


Flower Tower by Chris Palmer. I was really interested in this model for a long time, and would never have been able to fold it without some valuable advice from Andrew Hudson . I really love folding this model.


Cerberus by Satoshi Kamiya. I found this model very enjoyable to fold and with an awesome result. Unforunately, when i was glueing the paper to the foil some of the glue managed to seep through, so some newspaper got stuck on too . I decided to carry on though!


Armor Mask by Brian Chan. I used a 35cm square of duo kami for it, so it's actually fully wearable! a lovely model, with some great realism. I might have to have a go at his full Iron Man .

What kind of glue are you using? When I use spray adhesive, this generally doesn't happen. Also, you may consider doing this on a glass or plexiglass surface...that way the paper wont stick so bad!

Frumious, I am using PVA glue. I do not have a glass/plexiglass plate, and I have no desire to acquire one

Here's another alternative to newspaper: a painter's drop cloth. Its always worked for me. Although, if you use a drop cloth, you can't really use a cardboard tube to put the tissue onto the foil with to the same effect.

Hmmmmm, I do generally use a cardboard roll to put the tissue on, it makes it a whole lot cleaner and easier......

If you're cheap and lazy like me, you can just tape a few plastic bags together to use as a mat. Easy to peel the paper off without damaging it. You can tape the plastic mat to a hard surface (such as cardboard) if you want to use the cardboard roll. Just make sure you keep it away from children under the age of three so they don't suffocate themselves.
