				Monthly Folding Challenge: April 2015

I've been distracted from my work today by a mother blackbird flitting around and pecking for worms in some newly cleared ground. I was struck by the way its form changed as it moved from perching to flying and it made me think of a sheet of paper changing form and taking flight, so I choose birds for April's theme.
Theme: Birds
Rules: one square, no cuts
Get a gold star if you can make your creation fly

Now that was a weird Gif. The model makes sense now. Actually pretty good.

Tried my luck on designing, I'm actually quite satisfied as I never designed a model before

Maybe my tissuefoil wasn't the best choice...I always get lots of wrinkles in my completed model.
btw, it's supposed to be a crow

I folded Bernie Peyton's Kiwi based on the CP he displayed at the Surface to Structure exhibition. It is folded from 12 inch Tant.

Nice model, Fold, but you need to design your own model for these challenges.

This was a really hard challenge to judge for me, maybe because I'm not used to judging challenges. But anyway, here goes nothing:
3rd: Juston. Both are great models in their inherent simplicity. : )
2nd: Origamiaddict95. I liked the use of circle packing, and the shaping is really nice. ^^
1st: Sebl. You really captured the essence of a bird, and I like how you have it sitting on a branch.
Sebl will judge this month's challenge and choose the topic for June.
