The Origami Forum

The challenge for this month will be HUMAN FORM. I would like to see folders capture the whole of the human body (No masks, or hands). I would like participants to focus on the shape of the human body, to capture the beauty or ugliness or any other distinctive feature.

Rules:

1.) Model must be from one uncut piece square.
2.) Model must be of whole of human body, not just a part of it (no masks, busts-- the whole form must be captured. Of course, leaving out details like fingers and toes is perfectly fine).
3.) MUST BE YOUR OWN DESIGN.
5.) Must be a model designed specifically for this contest.
6.) Folding only. No drawing/painting etc onto the model.

can the model be from fantacy like a fairy. (mainly human form but the only difference is wings) or does it have to be realistic/practicle.

It can be an angel or something. As long as it focuses in capturing the entire form of something.

Can they have clothes on?

Yes it can have clothes on, like in the pictures of the origami. But make sure even through the clothes you can see the shape of the body. Even in Giang Dinh's work with heavily robes people, you can see the structure of the body underneath.

Hey, this seems like an easy topic for me. Now, I just need to find a good subject, seeing as I haven't really been inspired lately.

That is fine-many designers do great with mostly box-pleating: Sipho Mabona, Naoto Horiguchi, and Tran Trung Hieu to name a few. Besides, box-pleating works fantastically for human figures.

But British Petroleum (BP - box pleating) is frequently counts as a cheating or something like this.

may i used rectangle? I like rectangle, let me use rectangle please.huhuhu. all my new design by rectangle. It no fair. I often use a rectangle by a haft of the square. Is it ok??
