Origami spinner- Chris Palmer / many other people.

ok I am having trouble with the origami spinner. I found a tutorial on YouTube that explains how to make, it is by origamivoyeur. I have folded it successfully 3 times. the only problem is that they never spin. I have done difirent things to to help them a pointed base I designed different paper different soaking and drying times but they never spin.
Can some one recommend the paper, thickness, Drying time, soaking time, and other tips.
