It may not be illegal, and it may be easy if you have the right skills, but don't you think it is a bit rude? I am sorry to be the grumpy one raining on your parade! But you say yourself that he doesn't want this stuff shown. Don't you think that it would be nice to respect that? I would have thought that if origami masters like Kamiya feel that they are respected by the community in general then they are more likely to share their works in the form of diagrams and CPs. If what they do provide is abused, it might make them less inclined to engage with the origami community in the future, which would be very sad.

Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, if so I apologise! But perhaps a better way to go about this would be to contact the author for permission first?
your right...i knew it was wrong after i did it...
the reason i posted it was i was hoping kamiya would see this and fix it...partially. i know its rude.
i was wrong to post this. he never checks his email so anyone got any ideas on how to contact him so he can fix this? since i posted it now half the world knows about this so its useless just removing the links.

So, that's the question to consider: for a short term gain of access to some of Kamiya's previous works, are you willing to risk that Kamiya feels that you've shown him disrespect, so that he cuts us off from his future art ?

Just because some this is "Legal" doesn't mean that it's right.
I am in agreement.

The links aren't to illegal material. If Mr. Kamiya doesn't want them found, he should remove the files...he has no room to complain or feel disrespected.

There's nothing wrong with providing links to legal, public material. Obscurity is not security nor does it create an obligation of privacy. These are all easily found using google without any kind of special google-fu or esoteric hacker sk!llz (search for "site:folders.jp").

oh whatever.
The links are not illegal. The material is not illegal. disrescpectul or not, its his fault for not removing link he didn't want found.
i agree entirely with fncll.
even if it isn't right, as i said before, anyone can find it, therefore, I am just making a task that now that people know about it, easier.

You seem a bit unsure.

Imagine there was someone with a big mansion with huge gardens and beautiful grounds. Very kindly, they allowed the public to come in and explore the grounds and enjoy them too. But then they decide, for whatever reason, that they'd rather keep some areas just for themselves, so they remove the paths that lead to one area of the gardens.

Then a helpful person comes along and thinks "We used to be able to go to that bit of the garden. I'm going to go there anyway. There's nothing to stop me. Maybe other people would like to come too, so I'll put up a big sign showing everyone the way."

You could say that if the owner really didn't want people going there, he should have put up a giant fence to stop everyone. But wouldn't it be a shame if the owner turned around and said "Well, this seems to be more hassle than it's worth, maybe I'll just stop people coming here completely".
