Monkey - Robert Lang (The Complete Book of Origami)

Post by monkeyboyhero »

This is a seemingly simple model compared to the others in the book, but I'm getting confused by step 11. I'm using paper coloured on one side and white on the other. The instructions for step 11 say "wrap the inside of the arm to the outside" When I do it the way I think it should be done, one side of the arm is now white - but I'm not sure if it should be! This will mean all the model is coloured except his arms, which look a bit odd.

The diagrams don't have any shading to indicate the colours, so I can't work out if there's a way to do it that I'm not seeing. The black and white photo at the start looks like everything is one colour, but the very first step says "white side up" implying that it was folded with one-sided colour paper (and thus the arms shouldn't be half-white, and I am doing it wrong!)

Any advice or pointers on this would be greatly appreciated, it's driving me round the bend! I hope my explanation makes sense.

I took a quick look at the diagrams and it does seem like the color would change. I'll fold it tomorrow if I have time and let you know what I get.
