Ryujin shaped scale trouble
Hi everyone, my name is Ethan Martin. Lately I have been practicing different parts of the ryujin and I folded the unshaped scales as seen on most ryjin 2.1s. Now I want to fold the shaped scales as seen on ryujin 3.5. But here lies the problem, there isn't any tutorials showing how. So I need experienced ryujin folders to give me instructions on how to do it. Thanks for any replies in advance.
Re: Ryujin shaped scale trouble
I posted a video on how to do it.

This is not really best way to do it... If you want to do it that way its better to turn around paper and push paper inside with tooth pick or something like that...To make clean scales you have to follow steps from kamiyas book : 1-5 and than you turn around the model and make irregular square base...thats how kamiya did it.

Re: Ryujin shaped scale trouble
Im not sure exactly what you mean by that but when I follow the steps in Kamiya's book, which just came in the mail, they seem to always end up looking very unclean. I would post a picture but it keeps on saying"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image"Dj origami wrote:To make clean scales you have to follow steps from kamiyas book : 1-5 and than you turn around the model and make irregular square base...thats how kamiya did it.

I said you have to fallow only steps from 1 to 5 not the whole diagram.

Ok. so I did steps 1 through 5 but what is an irregular square base? I know what a square base is which is like what steps 1-3 tell you to make.

Re: Ryujin shaped scale trouble
yes, but I do not like the way the scales come out in the diagrams in his book and I know people shape them other ways. The scales in the book aren't clean in my opinion.
Re: Ryujin shaped scale trouble
As far as I know, I'm the only person shaping them a different way. Whatever DJorigami says, it worked just fine for me, and look perfectly clean.
Re: Ryujin shaped scale trouble
so try to do it 1800 times and make it perfectly clean - especially on the legs part
