Origami Flowers by Hiromi Hayashi. Help with gerbera #1

Post by aregma »

Hi,
if anyone has made gerbera #1 from this book (page 64), please can you give me detailed instructions on how to get from step 7 to step 8? I am very stuck and a somewhat beginner. I am trying to understand it, but it is difficult to understand.

Thanks in advance!

I forgot to add that I sorta mangled it to look like it, basically is it suppose to be alternating folding in and out, except for two parts, which make up the back and front of step 8?

So i have like 6 flaps on each side, and a front and a back, and also a chunk in the middle sticking up that is actually the center of the paper?

That sounds right.

On the underside of step 7, there should be a bunch of flaps - you can see them in steps 4 and 5. When you do the alternating valley and mountain folds in step 7, don't fold the flaps.

I didn't like all the cuts that are made in Gerbera #1, i much preferred #2.
