Michael LaFosse - Grasshopper

Post by Elboberto7 »

I was browsing through my copy of advanced origami by michael laffose and decided to make the grasshopper,i got stuck on step 26. The one where you have to pull out some layer of paper? I tried to do this but it never looked like the diagram in step 27.

Thanks in advance! :P

My first youtube video, I hope it works... Good luck finishing the model!

This video also describes step 34 pretty well. I should add that in step 46, the point you're squashing is on the left side, not the right.

Also, step 59 part 1 is performed on the flap behind the one it's shown on.

*Edit* Here's a picture of the finished model:

I do believe this is the best-looking insect I've ever made from printer paper. The trick seems to be Astrobrights, plus a wet-finish.

aha! i never would have done it like that, thanks i got the step ill post a pic soon!

Finished!

Obviously i used the wrong side to start with. And also if your going to try the model it becomes extremely thick and that tissue foil is not a good paper choice, also to get the color on the outside start with the color side up.

I am going to try it again from one piece of tissue foil later.

Thankyou for the help ahudson!
