No, there isn't and if you would have read the Forum Rules you would know that.

By the way, there is a reply button on the bottom of the page that enables you to write a new post without quoting all of the above text. (You could also delete the unnecessary text parts before replying if you want to use the quote button.)

*ehem* Anyways, getting back on topic...

I just finished folding the Ancient Dragon for the first time successfully :D out of ~70 cm florist's foil. It was the cheapest (and only) alternative medium available to me at the time without going out of my way or paying large sums of cash. For those who don't know, Florist's foil consists of a very thin, very fragile layer of foil bonded to a thin layer of plastic wrap. The foil allows for shape while the plastic allows for strength and prevents the foil from shredding apart at the thought of a reverse fold. It's great to fold more complex, sculpture-like models like KAMIYA's wizard that require artistic shaping, however the MAJOR downside is that it is very difficult to reverse creases, making sinks always end up somewhat ugly if you don't spend a decent amount of time shaping it from the inside or carefully "rolling" it between your fingers to flatten out the crease from the top. This can get so annoying that it is the reason why I started this thread in the first place - if that problem did not exist, I would have found the perfect medium! But life is not that easy.

The finished product ended up a lot nicer than I thought it would. I would not have minded something larger so that I could actually thin the legs out, or add pleats in the neck, but the spikes, wings, and tail could be shaped quite well. I will post pictures as soon as I can find the stupid USB cable to link my camera to the computer!...

And if it wasn't apparent in the first post, thank you very much for your suggestions. I have obtained spray adhesive and plan to try my hand at synthesizing tissue foil (or Kraft foil, with my excess), if it ever stops raining...
Don't make me get metaphorical with you.

how do you guys cut your paper after you make a good tissue-foil? i can never get a good square... and the local places that will cut paper for me only have those cutter boards that only fit stuff to about 30 cm

I don't cut paper I fold the exases paper multiple times then I tear the paper. Its a lot straighter than cuting.

Take a long ruler (i use an old, big glass plate that i also use for making my paper) and a cutter knife to cut your paper into size.

good luck!

I used this method:
Image
I made a 65 by 65cm sheet of double tissue and used a 1 metre long ruler and a pencil to align the points. Then, I cut it out with a pair of scissors. Since the paper is so big, the misalignment of the creases become more obvious, but nothing too major.
I've fallen down, and I can't get up.

hmm for satoshi's bahamut, which has a smiliar base, I used a butcher paper. somewhat thick and hard to use but pinching the paper, makes hell of a great mark :D
