A lot of you have probably already figured this out, but I'll post it for people like me whose scales looked like this:
Lots of "ugly" creases! (no offense meant)
Here's an easier way, with less creases:

I know.
I found a neater way to fold them, and I didn't really expect anyone to go through 75 pages of comments looking for possibly non-existant help.

Froy's instructions are better for figuring out how to put a lot of them next to each other
He does it backwards.
Near diamonds are near to the scales.

While rereading Froy's diagrams(and folding my own ryujin), I noticed that his are way better on the actual thing
