3D Orgami Dragon

Hi guys :)

I'm making an origami dragon with a friend of mine: http://www.papercraftcentral.net/2011/0 ... ith-stand/

We found it, and with great determination we undertook the challenge to make it. Alas, after we had all the paper folded and begun to piece it together we hit a wee snag... We cannot manage to make the structure curve.

Despite many emails to the creator of this initial dragon, I've had no response. I was curious if anyone had any suggestions as to how we might be able to get the dragon to curve?

Many thanks :)

I've never tried any of that sort of modular origami, but I've seen photos of all kinds of curved shapes made with it before. Your best bet is probably to investigate some other models that use that same modular technique, and maybe you'll find the answers you need in one of those.

ah, i love this type of origami. bend the triangles out a little each time you lay a row. it helps to glue 'em in place.
can you post a link to the diagrams so we can get an idea?

There are no diagrams, hence my dilemma. My friend and I are judging everything from those pictures alone ^^;

That didn't appear to help. There are no instructions for this model on the website that it sent me to

just listen to phillipcurl

everytime you put a new triangle that is at a curve, just insert it at an angle instead of straight,
and glue always helps

example:

>>>> straight

sorry no icon for a bent one but hopefully you know what i mean :P
