Roman Diaz Caballo/Horse - help needed

Hi all,

I've been trying this model from Origami for interpreters on and off for a while now and, although it seems relatively straightforward, I seem to make a mess of the sequence from step 29-34. Has anyone made this model and can explain this bit? I'm not sure if the spread-squash in 29 is my problem (i can't get it to spread too much - it seems far too tightly pack in to spread much at all) or if i'm simply overcomplicating the whole thing... It's also possible the paper i've been using (standard Tant) is a bit too thick? Maybe it's easier with tissue or something thinner?

I think i've figure it out now... seems to just be a normal sink fold but the diagram is a little bit strange...

my first attempt - http://imgur.com/M2HnO

it's pretty rough but i think with a thinner paper and wet folding it will look much better next time...
