Hi all ive got a few CP's id realy like to fold but i just cant figure them out. about 5 or 6 years ago i started to lern CP'S but as i havent folded for such a long time i have completly forgotten everything i was learning. :? I just cant figure them out anymore so need to start learning again. Ive read though all the CP topics here but it is still all far to confusing for me. I am still learning so not very confident with it so please be kind lol. :)

I find the best way to learn is to simply get stuck in and figure things out as i go.
The two i want to try are the giraffe weevil here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sin_cynic ... /lightbox/

and the cricket here: http://vs-origami.narod.ru/cp/cricket.en.jpg

Is there anyone here that could help with a few pointers on how to collape the bases for these?
Ive tried folding test bases but without any sucsess. Im finding it all very frustratting that i cant remember how to do it lol.

Hope some one can help with a few pointers to help me make these two models. [-o< [-o<

Kind regards & happy folding

If these are too difficult, try folding a simpler model and working your way up. Both of these crease patterns are quite straightforward and should come easily after you get the hang of simpler boxpleats.

EDIT:
Here are some resources:

And then the extremely useful series guide:
