I need help with Lang´s grasshopper in origami insects, i can´t understand steps 40-41 (specially 40)

In step 36 you have brought the point D down to the vertical line, and repeated this for the other point. Basically what you have to do in step 40 is to do the step 36 for both the top points simultaneously i.e bring the right point to the right line and the left point to the left line, then using the existing creases to flatten it, and finally squash the middle flap betweent the two points flat.
