I am trying to fold this model, but I am stuck at step 20.
Can anyone help?

Are you sure you need help for step 20? For the usual troublesome step on this wonderful model (check my avatar to see if I like it) is step 19.

I am going to explain step 20 according to your request, but if this is not the step you are having trouble with, go ahead and ask again.

On step 20 you have to do two things. The first one is to refold the crimp you had already done in step 10. This will "curl" that long tip to point down.

Once you've done that comes the trickier part. You need to take the tip of that long point (without undoing the crimp described above) and pass it through a hole in the model. It is like threading a needle. It is not easy but neither impossible. The tip of the point should come out on the left hand side.

Good luck. This model is really rewarding when you've finished it.

I once did it the flip flop for an exposition last year and someone stole the model and the card that identified the author and the folder (me). I was very proud.

Brimstone, you are right, I meant step 19 !!!
But I am also not really sure if I did step 18 right....

Those diagrams are kind of confusing. Right now my wife is asleep and I would wake her up if I went into the room to check for my notes but I think there is a shortcut shown at http://www.britishorigami.info/academic ... lop16.html it takes you from step 16 to 20 without the difficult ones. I remember there is a small triangle that gets in your way when you try to do this. Lift that small triangle so you can fold the flap in half.

Ok if you say so. But did you finish it? Does it come back to its original shape when you flaten it and then release it?

Yes, it does!
It is kind of like a spring which you can push in two directions

Hey, im having a lot of difficulty with step 22 of flip-flop and i want to finish it so, so badly. So...close...
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help? Ive already tried figuring out the fold from 19, (because I just used the shortcut there, so I made another to attempt to work it out) but I couldnt get it, and I've sunk an embarrasing ammount of time fiddling with it. I would really appreciate some better explanation, or even better a photo halfway through would be wonderful! Evil model...its probly laughing at me right now...
