in this crease pattern, there are 4 differently drawn lines, and one red line. i would LOVE to know what each of them mean. oh, and if it isn't too much to ask, i would like some advice on how to collapse this model. any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you read up a bit on crease patterns. The dotted lines are valley folds, the complete lines are mountain folds, or vice versa. I can't see a red line, but they usually indicate a way of getting reference points.

I have no idea what the model is. If you mentioned the name of the model, creator and where you got the diagrams from, the forum users may be able to offer you some help.

This CP has not usual visage. The dotted lines have two different shapes, mountain and valley creases do not change as predictable, the whole model should be very strange -- two wings, one leg, tail and one eye without head... And red line should show reference point, but... Maybe the whole model must be fold in half along main diagonal (wing--wing). I will try basic idea.

If is it dragonfly as finded Anna, it is no more surprise.

My idea was right. It must be folded half and along red line back, so main diagonal and red line make pleat. Then If you colapse zig-zag creases nearby red line you obtain one "leg" at the right angle to the body. So, now you can do "final shaping", it is not my srong side. I did not obtain anything similar to dragonfly. Only the base.

I got an owl out of this cp, not really a dragonfly but still nice

Congrat to owl! I have nothing. I do not realize three legs two times from one flap. My idea is cut that flap. If someone will to fold this dragonfly, I would like to learn how to make "final shaping".
