Komatsu's Hippo with Teeth

Post by halogen64 »

If you look on Hideo Komatsu's Website, there is a picture of the hippo with teeth, but I can't figure out how this is done. Can anyone help me?

This is the picture:

I know how to do crease patterns, but this model I had the diagrams for (Tanteidan Magazine 71). Unfortunately, the diagrams don't have the hippo with the teeth/tusks. If you look at the other pictures of the hippo on the site, they don't have tusks. If the crease pattern is different, I can try that but I would like to make sure before attempting it - as it looks like a very difficult model to do a crease pattern for IMHO. Has anybody completed it with the teeth yet.

It's not a different crease pattern. Just make use of the excess paper when forming the mouth.
