Hi, this is my first post (I just joined) so please excuse any errors I may make!

My question is does anyone know how to collapse Lang's roosevelt elk
creasepattern that is on his site?

http://www.langorigami.com/art/mammals/ ... elk_cp.pdf

I can't seem to understand how the middle (where there are two triangles) fold flat. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it!

thanks!:D

The 2 triangles are just, well, simple triangle molecules. There are mountain folds across them to mark the river that intersects them, but it looks like if you try to incorporate those folds into the collapse it will not work. CPS with a lot of small rivers are generally hard to collapse, so just fiddle with the arrangement of flaps and you should be able to find something that works. Good luck!

Thanks, I ignored the mountain fold connecting the two
circles and fiddled around with flaps and collapsed a base.
The only problem remains now is how to shape....
Photos or suggestions would be great.

Could someone give some help regarding how to get the reference points in this CP?

Sorry for reviving an almost dead topic but I feel I haven't gotten anywhere with this model. Jonnycakes comment helped a bit but I still would like to know if anyone knows the reference points as well as how to create the front legs. I can collapse almost everything except that area. Photos, Video, Written comments: anything is greatly appreciated. I really want to fold this. Thanks so much :)

The front legs do look tricky to collapse-middle flaps right next to each other like that are always tricky. I would try collapsing the front legs before the rest of the CP. Tough middle flaps are easier to get before the rest is folded. As for the references...I don't have a clue. They aren't listed as they are for many of Lang's CPs, and I believe that is an entirely 'Treemaker'd' base, so the references are probably not easy to get. My best idea is to contact Lang (he has a portion of his site for that) and ask him about it.
