Word play

Last topic before 10 days of holiday from the forum (I'm going to the mountains if anybody cares... 
)
I've read that there's been a time when a lot of names where used for bases, even the smallest modified ones, blinzed this, blitzschlag that and so on.
I enjoy English and it gives the possibility of speaking with a lot of people, but ...
Why not call CP's "diplographies"? "diagrams" is also a greek word and in sciences usually names use latin or greek words ... I think using "crease pattern" is ok and a sign we are in a new era, but also think "diplography" could be possible since it involves the "dupl" prefix which signifies doubling, reminding in some sort of way the step from 2 to 3 dimensions.
And what would be the Japanese word for CPs? And the Spanish?
