what a clever model! :D I'm afraid though, that Hojyo Takashi doesn't publish or diagram his work more than just a crease pattern. Try Google, origami database and or contacting him. Good luck!

Diagrams are in Tanteidan Convention Book 4, which unfortunately is no longer available...

I have folded this model from the diagrams, but discovered an easier way to fold it. I would diagram it but I don't want to violate any copyrights. I could give some tips for folding it if that's permitted. Any thoughts on what type of assistance is permitted and what isn't in a situation like this?

There is nothing wrong with creating diagrams and sending them to the original creator with a request to release them to the Web.

A few of the famous creators have even been so gracious as to allow diagrams of related models that were inspired by their creations, with the appropriate disclaimers and attributions.

Because the diagrams are out of print, I don't believe there would be a problem, but I don't know how to get in touch Takashi.

The absolute worst thing that would happen is that ... you would get some good practice in diagramming, with nowhere to go :-)

Hojyo's a nice guy. I'm sure if you were to email him asking (and offering the finished diagrams) he would be okay with it. I know Carlos Furuti diagrammed Miyajima's Bat from the CP, and Miyajima even links to it from his own page. Diego Quevedo diagrammed an owl based on Robert Lang's Night Hunter CP, ad so on.
