I'm stuck on the diagrams for fishgoth's Tyrannosaurus.
Its rather embarrassing for me, seeing as I've successfully folded other supposedly more difficult diagrams. Anyways, the part that's giving me trouble is step 28 and 29, where it tells me to "pull top layer out as far as it will go" and then to "fold in half". I tried it, but I don't know if I'm doing it right (I don't know where to crease it, and so on.) and it doesn't look like the illustration after I try it.

This looks like it is just like stretching a bird base. With a separate sheet of paper, fold a bird base (as if you were going to fold a crane), and practice this stretch.

shouldn't that be a frog base? but then only 1 half.

I finally completed it!
It's kind of a weird fold (you have to work it into place) but I managed to do it.

Yup, it is half a frog-base, stretched.

Now, add 1/8th pleat down the centre, and you can give the model proper toes. You can even turn it inside out to give it a seamless closed back.

There is even a way to give it teeth. But I'll keep that secret for now...

I don't know what you mean...add 1/8 pleat down the center of where? And when you say 'proper toes' do you mean like it is in the diagram?

He means that you can modify the model that's in the diagram. You would start off by adding pleats down the diagonal of the paper, similar to his silver dragon, http://www.fishgoth.com/origami/diagrams/cp_dragon.pdf , in order to give the T-rex toes without making the legs smaller. After adding the pleats, you would start at step 1 of the diagrams.

Notice in the T-rex diagrams the initial size of the leg, at step 42. Then, in steps 44-51 you take some of the paper from the leg and make toes out of it. By starting out with the pleats down the center of the model, the leg at step 42 would already have extra layers available to make the toes without needing to shorten the leg.

If you have access to the book Origami Design Secrets by Robert Lang, you can learn all about how to do add these kind of extra things to existing models.

Crudy photo, and this is pre-teeth, but that is the closed back/inside out version. Who said this origami lark was difficult?
