Can you name a few Origami books an (advanced) Origami folder can't life without? Hope you can help me out!

How about Robert Lang's "Origami Design Secrets"?
Another one would be Satoshi Kamiya's "Works of Satoshi Kamiya".

If you like folding insects, Origami Insects and Their Kin and Origami Insects 2(both by Robert Lang) are must haves. you can get the first book on amazon and get the second book from the online ousa source.

Very difficult to answer without knowing what particular types of models intrigue you.
There are many immensely talented designers and books/convention books out there.
I say, " buy 'em all !!"
Betcha can't read just one !

Aside from the books already mentioned, which I would readily recommend, I would also mention Joisel's 3D Masks and Busts from the BOS, and Nicolas Terry and Roman Diaz's books.

You might also want to consider Michael LaFosse's Advanced Origami for its discussions about paper, or some older books like Origami Sea Life and Origami from Angelfish to Zen.

at first i'll get the Works of Seiji Nishikawa - seems to be an outstanding origami book with lots of beatiful models...and i also ordered Origami Design Secrets and Paper in Harmony: A Collection of Origami Instrumentalists
by Kirschenbaum... -do you know this one?

btw there exists a book with a beautiful frog-model.....but i cant remember
the title....do you?

"Origami Design Secrets" by Robert Lang has a frog on the cover, as well as the book "Passion Origami" by Nicolas Terry and I'm sure there are a lot of other books with a frog on their cover too.

I ordered Paper In Harmony a long time ago. It's a nice book, except you cant fold the models with commercial paper such as kami. Although Foil paper works well.

I think that he does an excellent job of giving us a taste of what is out there !

I'm gonna go with Works of Satoshi Kamiya and Advanced Origami by Michael LaFosse. Those are the two books I look at the most, even when it comes to paper and design. (Far more than Origami Design Secrets, honestly.)

I also like compilations, like the Tanteidan convention books, but those are really the only ones I continually refer to.

just had a look at the Advanced Origami book...wow lots of outstanding figures!!!
i guess i'll buy it one day - damn too much brilliant origamibooks out there...
