I can't get the body of the Cobra to stay in place. It keeps uncoiling, and the tail wont stay together.

Wetfold, Wetfold, Wetfold. Because this model requires a very organic and curly pose you should really wetfold it. If you already are then make sure that when the paper is a little dry (damp) then use closepins or elastics with paper towels to make sure that while the body dries it will dry in that shape. Hope this helps!

You can try to brush the model with a damp (nearly dry) washcloth, but be gentle and careful, working on only a small portion of the model at a time.

I have found that when I dampen a dry model, then the model may warp, droop, or wrinkle in unpredictable ways. But I can usually repair the structural blemishes.

However, depending on the paper, the dye may fade or bleed, and that may not be reversible. Check out the water marking effects on a piece of scrap paper.

Regardless, a little damping makes a nice effect and I think it is worth the experimenting.

I used a light paper foil. Will that work?

I don't believe that a foil should uncoil. Also, I believe that if you dampen foil, then it may separate.

So, if you used foil for the model... I retract my suggestion... and I don't know what to suggest.

Foil is great for practice but don't expect beautiful display quality models that hold shape forever. Again I strongly suggest you use the wetfolding method that Hank describes earlier in this post - but use a strong, stiff, paper that is not too thick. Good luck

hey guys. im using 2 colored paper, what color should i start with up if i want the back of the cobra colored and the belly white?

For foil, you can just glue it and use something to help it dry in place. Usually foil doesn't uncoil or unfold unless you have tons of layers built up, and sometimes not even then (or for me anyways) so I don't see why there would be a problem really. Well, I guess some foils are better than others.

Hi. I want to fold the monster cobra version. 100 meters and all that. How long does my strip need to be? Also, what is the ratio of paper to model?
