Has anyone here ever made this?

It seems rather simple due to the fact that the body portion is just a square bit of paper ... but something tells me it's probably exceedingly difficult to model.

Hmm, well it's one of Joisel's, and just by looking at it, you can tell its box-pleated, which makes it easier to figure out. Really, the only thing that looks exeedingly difficult is making that face... Not many, if any, do it better than Joisel.

I just got to thinking ... it almost reminds me of the dwarf base, only because of the waterbomb base that makes up the model in the middle. You can almost just wrap the hands around so it's holding the paper. Just a thought. I'd like to figure this one out, but it seems a little tough. Too bad he didn't put a CP of it out there.

You're correct, it is a lot like his dwarf, just with different proportions. If you study the dwarf CP, it won't be hard at all to make a fairly accurate reproduction.

Excellent ori-gauthier, quite an accomplishment.

A while ago we had a thread of folding models without diagrams or CP's, just from the picture and it was pretty cool.

Yeah, that is a talent all unto itself. Like I said, it can't be THAT difficult, but at the same time, I could be mistaken. I'll give it a shot, and perhaps post it if it's not too embarrassing.

Don't change the proportions. I looked at this and it is exactly the same as the dwarf base with the difference that instead of forming a diamond shape in the center at step 4, you follow the same creases and make a square shape and then mold till it looks like the picture .

What do you mean "step 4?" In the Tanteidan magazine?
