what paper should I use for the urchin?

Of all the models that I have tried, the Atlantic Purple Sea Urchin, Pacific Giant Red Sea Urchin, and the 145 Point Sea Urchin have messed me up in the same way- the paper rips at the steps when I need to pull the paper out of the pockets. To those that have made these models before, what type of paper did you use? And for the future, would it be a good idea to wet-fold the paper at this step?

Thanks in advance,
Aquadragon.

you should try to use MC paper.
and please don't use silly names for your topics in the future, I changed it into a better one.
thanks.

I did some urchins as stands for fishes and they turned out very nice with MC paper

I have managed the Atlantic Purple Sea Urchin from 8 inch Standard Kami using low adhesion tape over the folds as you fold them, and then removing it - it reduces the stresses on the folds. The Kami is too springy even then though, and the model quickly lost shape.
I made the Pacific Giant Red Sea Urchin from 16 inch butter paper (Like butchers paper - It wraps my lunches!), but it was finger bleedingly tedious to fold.

Use the BIGGEST sheet of tissue foil you can possibly make. Just curious, but what was the original title of this thread?

The title was originally "Paper Type?" It was the best title I could think of in 3 seconds... :D

P.S.: Nice urchins and fish TheRealChris! How long did it take you to make them all?
