is there an easy way i can get diagrams for a detailed hermit crab? my one teacher has a hermit crab, and i want to make him one.

Well you could try to fold Robert Lang's Hermit Crab from CP which is freely available.

But I would recommend you to get the book Origami Sea Life which includes a simpler (but yet very detailed) Hermit Crab by Robert Lang. And it's a very nice book which is available rather cheap.

There's also Brian Chan's Hermit Crab which, while the CP is easy, takes quite a bit of shaping to make it look good.

There is also Kamiya's hermit crab, but that might be considerably harder to make-I also don't know where the CP (or diagrams?) are published.

The diagrams for Kamiya's hermit crab were in one of the last Tanteidan Special Issues for members.

I think that the crab of Brian Chan would be a good choice. I like the crab from Origami Sea Life, but I dont remember a person that has correctly identified it when i showed it.

I tried Brian's hermit crab, and, much to my suprise, I was able to actually decipher the crease pattern!! That is my second crease pattern to ever fold. Lang's SUV was the first. I did need help with making the shell, though.
Anyways, my teacher was really suprised to see the hermit crab.
