It's not 44x44 grid but it's very close. What do you think?

It looks like it's based off of a grid. The tiny rivers are caused by box-pleated flaps not quite aligning with the non-box-pleated ones-this makes it seem like it is based on a grid-otherwise the proportions would probably have been worked out so the flaps lined up.

fold a 3x3 grid then fold that grid to a 48x48 then tear off 4x4 to get a 44x44 grid this can be used with any grid.

Or you could just use Reference Finder to find out how to divide into 11ths, and then just divide the 11ths into 22nd and then 44ths.
Hope that helps. Reference Finder is great.

Or use the Haga theorum. Make a mark at the top of the paper 3/8ths from the upper right corner. Bring the lower right corner to that mark (you don't have to actually make a fold). The intersection of the left edge of the paper with the bottom edge of the paper is 6/11ths from the top edge.
