hi again i need help with step 15 of the shell where are the creases

plz help me i need to do this model for a display in school it NEEDS to be done by february 20

Looking at step 14, at the left side around the middle there is a little x. This part is maximized in step 15. In step 15 you carefully pull apart the layers, then collapse them again like shown in step 16. The result should look like step 17.

You're taking that circled point and curving it back up, then tucking it into the indicated flap.

I have been trying to fold this model for quite some time now and I do not intend to give up, because it is so beautiful.
Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to fold and re-collapse as shown in step 16 in order to reach step 17.

Since I am rather new to Origami, surely I lack the experience and imagination needed to make this conglomerate of mountain and valley folds come to life.

Please help me to learn and improve my folding.

Thank you so much for illustrating this problem for me (and probably many others who will come here in the future)!

Any hints/examples for the close of the shell i.e. steps 18, 19, 20? I can't quite figure out what it's trying to tell me... i can kind of almost get it done but i'm not sure what tucks into what etc. or maybe i'm trying to close it the wrong way around or something?
