Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie, and I'm starting to try out some more complex models. I love the look of Yoshizawa's Iguanodon (p. 74 of the "Origami Museum: Animals" book), but I don't understand how to make the folds in steps 11 and 12 (putting the legs into place). Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance!

It looks very easy, for me and other experienced origamists. So, how to help you? At first, try to do it alone, repeat it for several times, follow walley and mountain folds and you will see, that you fold it. Second, It is squash. Take whole flap and make new walley fold in the place as shown on the picture. While you folding whole flap, it folds in half on the existing crease (mountain fold on the picture) and upper point will squash down. After this operation model will be axactly as on the picture, it is right. I hope it helps.

Thank you for the tips. That definitely helps. I've made the squash fold in step 11, and as you've written, it looks like the photo. The only part I'm confused about is how to make the point in step 12 pop out, but other than that I think I understand the rest of the model. Thank you for you help!

That's a great book to work from, because after you fold the models, then you can follow his suggestions and fold the variations, also - Good Practice.

If you have folded Step 11 correctly - squashing or "swiveling" along the vertical Valley Fold (VF), while making the horizontal Mountain Fold (MF), then the model should be flat. The arrow and the letter B indicate that you do the same thing to the flap in back.

At Step 12, you fold an inside reverse fold on each leg. This is very similar to the type of fold you made on Flap D in going from Step 9 to Step 10. On Flap A there is a MF, which is on both sides of that flap, so you want to precrease a VF in both directions where the MF is indicated, then partially open the flap, reverse the VF precrease into MFs, and push the flap inward... much easier to do than to describe.

Oh, this step I absolutely missed. Just pull some paper from the inside. I am sure you will make it OK. Will you send a photo?
