I have collapsed the base of Geistkämpfer, but I am having trouble keeping the waist togethor. It always springs out and doesn't stay togethor. Can anyone tell me how to keep the waist part togethor?

Be more precise, please. Several letters more is not so much, if you want help of other people.

If you do not know what model Geistkämpfer is I don't think you can provide much help.

He already said that it is a model by Hojyo Takashi.

I am not agree with Brimstone. I really do not know name of each model which I folded, especially japan or other Asia models because I just cannot read it. And even if so, it should be complicated to remember each one. I suggest that other people are the same.

In the reference that Anna provided, it shows that Artur Biernacki has folded the model, so if other folks are not familiar with it, you might PM Artur.

From what I've read, when people are courteous to him and patient, he tends to be very helpful.

BTW, for those of us NOT in the know, Geistkämpfer means Spirit Warrior in German, which I imagine is a pop culture reference.

To the post above....

Just do not respond. I read this post and it was completely pointless, a waste of time and space. Also, if other people are "the same"... they were much smarter than you by not responding. Those that want to help and can...will.

I'm pretty sure that there is no locking mechanism on the waist. You either have to use malleable foil, glue, or methylcellulose.

If there is no other way to lock the waist and you are already committed, then I might suggest a partial wet-fold.

For some models that don't quite stay closed, I sometimes try a few drops of water and a clamp, paperclip, or clothespin to hold the model closed until the water dries. Of course, you can always use glue....

Some things to watch out for:
1. The water may discolor the paper or make the color run.
2. You may get wrinkles or distortions in the paper.
3. The paper may wick the water beyond the place that you want it.

I think that Quentin has perfected this approach, if you are interested in trying it and have questions...

I have tried using water, but I don't think I did it correctly. I will have to ask Quentin for advice on using water.

ehm... i kind of dont get it - how to collapse the base, the lines just can not go the way they should, i'm having at recodnizing wich part is wich, and at collapse...i've tried to find this cp collapse photoes but didnt find any...would someone plz help me? i dont think the photo of mine pattern would be any use- because it hardly collapsed,i also think that i'm missing something very simple wich gives me troubles...
anyway , HELP_PLZ
