My girlfriend keeps saying I'm her knight in shining armor, and I have a couple of sheets of silver foil paper, and wanted to make her a little knight in shining armor. However, I can't find a crease pattern or any diagrams of a knight. I can find one on a dragon, one on a horse (he doesn't look much like a knight though...), and so on, but never just a knight.

Does anyone know of any good diagrams or a crease pattern I could use?

Well, there is David Brill's Knight on a horse (just fold it, but don't fold a horse, because it is from a separate sheet of paper), and position it like a knight that isn't riding a horse .

I might be new to this website, I'm no newbie at origami.
I just recently made 2 rather nice Divine Dragons (designed by Kamiya Satoshi), one of which was folded out of 8.75 inch printing paper (yes, less than one half the recommended size). I thoroughly enjoy difficult and complicated models. Really my only constraint is the size of the paper. I only have 6 by 6 inch silver foil, but I may be able to get some foil wrapping paper now that the holiday season is coming ever closer.

So, please give me a complicated model that looks nice. I may be able to still do it despite having small(-ish) paper.

Great. I've done that too--except it was 8.5 inch

Miyajima's Knight not complex enough? It is diagrammed at 164 steps, in Tanteidan 13.

Also, just because you can fold complex doesn't mean you have to. Sometimes the most complex isn't the best.

I was just saying that as to mean that I'm not restrained by simple models, and that I also like a challenge. (and often times, complicated models look more detailed, and with that better)

And as for Miyajima's Knight, I thought it looked nice and all, but didn't have quite the look I was going for. But the link you (origamimasterjared) posted did have a very nice looking knight. I think I'll try it and see how it turns out.

P.S. For the Divine Dragon, were you able to get many detail into the face? I had to skip most all of the last 30 steps because they were detailing the face, and by that point, my dragon's face had gotten too small for me to fold, or for anyone to notice them.

Looks a lot better than mine. I messed up with the head, and the mouth didn't extend out as far enough as it should have, so it looks like he doesn't have a jaw (to me at least), and I still need to wet fold it so it looks nicer. The tail won't stay tucked in, so it pulls the wings back, and it looks like I placed a torso, two wings, and a tail on top of two legs, then tried to make it look fancy.

Also, your paper looks like it was thinner. Was it not made out of printer paper?

Yes it was printer paper.

It might just be the angle, but yours looks so much smoother.
I'd post a link but I haven't taken a picture of mine, and I don't have a camera.
I think my paper was just thicker and also it was my first try at it.

Either way, for the link to the knight you posted, have you made it already? I'm trying to find out some things about it.

origamimasterjared, I think your dragon is very cute :P

I once tried to make a divine dragon out of a sheet of photo paper (US Letter size), no wet-folding, sizing, whatever. And don't ask me how it turned out...

That Knight on Flickr looks really good and is partially photo diagrammed. Why not try that? I'm going to!
