hi everybody, im having trouble finding the reference points to this model

i was able to locate the reference points for the birdbase but nothing else. can someone please post a picture or something? thanks

Not sure if it's exact, but this is what I found:



basically it gives you the reference for the line under the bird base, rest of the creases should be easy to find.

i already figured that much out but i do not belaive theres enough information to continue

From what I see, there is enough to continue, where you stuck on?

The square at the bottom right is 1/3 of the side.

It's close, but not exactly at 1/3.

Assuming the sides are 1 unit long, the square at the bottom right is 0.32 units from the right.

(3√2 - 2)/7 units to be exact

Yeah, I found a couple other ways of getting that point. But the one I drew is the most likely, as it's a reference point Kamiya uses a lot! (So it would naturally come up and/or Jason would be inclined to use it)

I used the one-third reference for mine. Though it was not exact, its good enough for me.

thanks, i folded it today in school with some notebook paper. the only problem i had with it was getting the front neck to be the right size. it came out a bit long. but other than that, it came out alright for notebook paper

The reference points were fairly arbitrary. Use different reference points to get different proportions. I just picked a set I liked.

For this creasepattern, the point is not how to get the reference point, but where it is. A little trig yields below, and you can find your reference points using whatever method you like. I suggest reading Lang's treatise on reference points for methods to progress from there...
