How do I merge different patterns?

Any ideas on how two CPs can be merged seamlessly? Up to know I've been doing it manually, by trial and error and I've been able to merge the Waterbomb and the Yoshimura pattern (or at least I think it's called the Yoshimura pattern). But I would want to merge more types of patterns and doing it by trial and error is time consuming. Are there any tricks and/or technics which could be of help on the matter?

Thanks!

A lot of it depends on the different patterns you are trying to join. Some patterns are based on a square grid, some are based on a hexagonal grid, and some are based on no grid at all! It can be difficult or not feasible at all to join the patterns sometimes. Even if they use the same grid, the way pleats interact may not be the same between the two patterns, so that can pose difficulties as well.

In short, it depends on the different patterns you are trying to join. You may want to get in contact with some tessellators-they could probably help more than I can.

Shall I take this that you want to be censored a bit more? I think I could arrange that

Jonnycakes is certainly right. It really depends on what grid your using. If everything is based off a square grid or a triangle grid, it shouldn't be too difficult. What did you have in mind, I couldn't see from the picture really well.
