Hi All! -

A colleague forwarded me this picture of an origami Sinosauropteryx:

...mimicking the first fossil of this feathered theropod dinosaur:

Does anyone know whose work this is? Subtracting characters from the URL doesn't lead anywhere...

it looks like edwin ee's (author of jurassic origami, which is now out of print) aesthetic. and it may look like his aesthetic as he favored modular dinosaurs, usually out of bird bases, which this gives all the appearance of. it's difficult to be certain, obviously.

More stuff by what looks to be the same creator (I've seen pictures of this person's stuff in the past -- the peculiar tail formation and heavily reverse-folded necks are characteristic -- but don't know a name or if any of these have ever been published...):

If anyone knows the name of this creator, and if any of his/her work has ever been published (and, if so, where), please let us know!

Whoops, this means I was wrong on that other forum topic...oh well.

I tried googling his name and all I got was "WORLD'S LARGEST DINOSAUR!!" Does anyone know if he has any books/cps/websites/diagrams on his models?

My japanese isn't so hot, but it looks like their talking about a huge origami dinosaur (8 meters by 2.8 meters or so long as the finished model) that took a lot of people and children to fold...is this the dinosaur that was made in the "Giant Origami" video? It doesn't contain an image....

And yeah, the other thing's a book, but it doesn't seem to have the Sinosauropteryx model...:(

I wonder how much MC they used for that thing, and what paper it's made of- it seems very, very strong.

I have to agree, mainly because they used a crane to lift the big one-wouldn't that tear the paper from the weight (if it wasn't strong I mean)?
