I need help on step 8, I can't get the open sink right, I started to think that there was some kind of error in the diagrams, but I'm not sure
Does anyone knows what to do in order to make it look like in step 9?
There's a photo of the diagrams.

I just had a go and I agree it is very confusing. I think I've figured out how to get it looking like the picture though. After you've done the precrease, if you open the paper up a bit, the new crease gives you a sort of trapezium shape. Rather than sinking it immediately, make a new mountain fold that cuts off a small corner of the trapezium (the near, upper corner if viewed from the angle of the diagram) and turns it into a triangle. Now sink the triangle.

Does that make any sense?

It is from "Origami Sequence" by Quentin Trollip, available from origami-shop. I got it for Christmas, and so far I'd say it is a great book. Only had time to fold a couple of models from it so far, but looking forward to the rest!
