Paper for the Roc

Post by Flame_Kurosei »

Hello everyone, how are your holidays? :)

I'm not sure if this belongs here or the general origami talk, so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I was wondering what kind of paper should I use for Roman Diaz's Roc, found in Origami Essence: http://www.giladorigami.com/BO_Essence.html

This is what I have on hand:
18x18in Cansom Drawing Paper (60 gsm)
18x18in Tracing Paper
24x24in Brown Kraft Paper (but it's very weak paper...)
36x36in Gift Wrap (once again weak....)

Another note is I don't have mc anymore, so I can't alter the kraft to use....

Would any of these work? I'm nervous that some of the papers I have will be too small to be viable (looks nervously at the tweezers)...

Any other suggestions would be great! :D

Thanks in advance!
A tiny place to post my things. Enjoy~

I would use the tracing paper. Might have some trouble with the feet, but I've just ignored his diagrams for them and used the naive method from the pleats (Elias stretch, I think it is called) when I used small paper. If you haven't done it before, using the kraft paper for a test fold might be a good idea. The collapse is tricky.

Of course, I would love to MC the tissue paper first.
