Help Please! :)

Post by Jay Pan »

Hi!

I'm wondering if anyone could me at all please.

I'm just going into business with a friend of mine, the exciting world of graphic design! We are currently designing our logo etc after choosing the name 'Paper Rhino'. As you would imagine we thought an origami rhino would be perfect for this but I have already run into problems with this. I'm not experienced with origami in the slightest and have tried to follow a few different instructions so far and failed massively! So, I wondered if anyone in the origami community could help at all pretty please?!

I was thinking that maybe someone that might have one already that could just send me some pictures if possible? Or perhaps someone can point me in the direction of easy instructions to follow or even perhaps someone would like to take this project on and make one?! Basically any help would be very much appreciated. I can offer a small amount of money if that helps too...

Thanks you ever so much for your time.

I know there are plenty of models of rhinos about (some with diagrams/cp's)

http://dev.origami.com/images_pdf/rhino.pdf one example of an online diagram, but my favourite one has to be this one - this one
by Quentin Trollop.

In your situation I would personally hope that u come to some arrangement with someone experienced enough to help you steps forward :D IF you got really stuck I could have a go at making a rhino for you but I know there are much better folders than me around with their own designs which would make alot of issues that may arise easier to deal with.

Good luck :)

Thanks very much for your reply! :)

I did have a go at a few designs but my lack of experience caused a lot of frustration! So I think you are right, finding someone to do one for me would be the best case scenario!

If my search reveals no other takers I may be knocking on your door for some help! Thanks ever so much for the offer! Much appreciated :D

That sounds promising! As long as an origami idiot like me can understand it that is! You wouldn't have any photos of a made rhino already would you?

Cheers,

To Jay
Why not just draw a 2D stylized Rhino that looks like an origami rhino. That way you could probably end up with something close to what you need.

Just a thought.

To Quentin,

We did consider that but we would like to make a the Rhino 3D and as realistic as possible. As much as I think I'm good at artwork, I don't actually think I make it that well! :)

Ah! Quentin! I have just realised that you are the creator of the PDF that I have been trying to do but unsuccessfully! Would you be happy to supply a photo at all or perhaps you have a video guide to help or anything really! As I said in my first post I will pay for anything that might be needed...

Cheers,

Jay :)

Jay
I already have a pdf drawing from a photo of my White rhino.
Let me know if you're interested. Send me your email address via the "messages" on this forum.
