Model for large thick sheet

I have a 70cm sheet of reddish paper. The paper is very strong and quite thick. I'm looking for quite detailed model (large sheet) but without too many layers. Maybe something with tesselation in it. Suggestions?

Maybe the Wizard by Satoshi Kamiya? I tried it once from 30cm Tant and got a decent result. The staff will get really thick, especially by the hand, but otherwise there aren't very many layers in most of the model.

This is certainly a good idea. Thanks.
Here's what I've got before final shapening. And that would be difficult because of thickness.
