Try a bird base. That has four flaps and I'm sure you can come up with something similar to the leaf.

*cough*

Phu Tran has made it very clear he doesn't want people folding his rose. He probably doesn't even want you to be thinking about it. Please try something else.

This thread has some nice leads: viewtopic.php?t=629

The leaves from Roses. Origami and Math are very similar to the ones you linked to, and in my opinion, just as nice. The folding sequence is pretty straighforward. But like a lot of origami, it really comes down to the final shaping.

I've looked into this very closely and i found that the leaves on Phu's roses are merely a rip off of ones that can be found on this site http://www.aboutflowershome.com/origami+flowers.html

What leaves there? Phu Tran's leaves are one piece and if you notice the ones on the site are singular pieces which are assembled. So the three leaves and stem (stem as referring to the bit connecting leaves to the main stem, I guess branch might be more apt) are one piece of paper not four pieces of paper.

hi there...

sorry, completely forgot about this posting.
I will do it tonight ok?
nevertheless, I found this link, which is pretty good I think. It only shapes 1 leaf, but maybe someone can use the same thing to create a 3 leafs?!
